These are the dogs that are at Posterpup Newfoundlands, we try and breed the best to our liking.
Each pup that is bought from us comes with an 1 year guarantee, first shots and worming.
We have copies of the pedigree available online, if you go to the "Meet or Boys" or "Meet Our Girls" section of this sight,
click on a picture of the newf that interest you, the pedigrees are posted on their individual page. You have
extended history on color and OFA'd relatives of your pup. All OFA stuff done on each dog, or pennhip is also posted. All are dogs/puppies are well
socialized so that when you meet them you will have an enjoyable experience and they will too:) This gives you a great start to take off and continue with.
If we were to ever come across any serious health problems we would stop breeding that pair of dogs.
We have many references available from people that have bought puppies, people that personally know us, have been to our place and some
of them are repeat buyers. Our dogs start out as our family pets first, they have 40 acres of timber land right now, lots of their room to
roam, breeding is secondary here meaning, we are personally involved wth each of our dogs and their health and happiness comes before breeding. Click on one of the buttons above for pictures of the newfoundlands in our home, past pups and other fun stuff. We are located in Oregon and can be reached through e-mail at posterpup@yahoo.com for any questions that you may have regarding litters, deposits and anything else that you can think of:) If you e-mail me
your phone number and the best time to call I will gladly call you:) We welcome visitors as long as we are in between the breeding/heat seasons and new born pups
as we like to keep outside traffic down when pups are born until they get their first set of shots. Check with me and I can let you know the time frame
at that time that would work for a visit. If I don't have pups available, I can help you find a reputable breeder.

Ask me a million questions if you need too, you don't have to buy from me for me to help you if I can. I will never make you feel like you
are taking up to much of my time or asking dumb questions. This is a big investment emotionally, physically and monetarily and I want you to be sure that this is right
for you and your family. Any pup that you get deserves to have a secure home and family to live out it entire life with. When you bring a puppy into your home
you need to view it as if you have another child to raise, that's what it's like, you most likely will have your trials, injuries and frustrating moments
as you do with children, however, as with children the end result of your hard work is worth the effort you had to put into your new newfy family member as you now have one of the most awesome creatures around. Also, as with children, if you let them do as they please and don't maintain consistancy in what you expect out of them, they can be a BIG handful as they grow. What ever you won't allow an adult newfy to do, don't allow a cute fuzzy 8 week old to do. Learn all you can about the breed, pick a subject and find all the articles you can about it too, this helps you become more aware of what to expect down the road. There are lots of
things you can learn about joints, health, nutrition, behavior and more, you will find not everyone agrees on the "how" "what" or "when" when it comes to these guys, joint problems can be hereditary, nutritional and environmentally caused by trauma during the growth period ESPECIALLY in the boys, most of what I have learned is due to their rapid and irratic growing they tend to have a much higher chance of ailments than the females. Reading more about these things lowers yours odds
of having those type accidents or lack of nutritional consequenes coming about. On the flip side, because they are free willed, they still can
get themselves injured reguardless of how safe you try and keep them. Just like kids...so don't feel too bad if something does happen, just be ready
to commit to the expense of it if something should arise.  If your not, you should consider waiting till you feel ready financially and in your mind. The best breeding, the best nutrition and the best environment doesn't mean that things can't go wrong. With any live creature there is always a risk, more knowledge just helps you reduce that risk. I think getting PET INSURANCE is a great idea for a large breed dog.
They ALL go through the teen phase of life where at times, they aren't very newfy looking, that gauky, goofy stage, that has you wondering if you really
have a newfy...ha ha ha.....its normal for the first 2 years of life to grow tall and then fill out between the ages of 2-4. there are many growing changes you will
see in your new newf pup, With that same stage also brings the human version of the "terrible twos". Consider all this and more for YOUR circumstances before getting a newf, its best to commit to it before you bring a new large breed pup into your home. Your newf is what you make them:) If you have decided that no matter what, good or bad, that you are ready for a newfoundland and feel you will see things through from start to finish, then that's the time to start searching out a breeder. Taking time is the best thing you can do to find a good breeder that you can work with. Check references on EVERYONE, big breeder or small breeder, show breeder or hobby breeder, it benefit you most to check out references for every breeder that you contact and are interested in. You have that right
to have references just as much as the breeder does to check you out.
Good luck in your Search!
I have added a button for information on Pennhip Testing in my LINK area as I feel that test for
the hips is another good alternative to the OFA as it can be done as early as 4 months
old where OFA requires your dog to be at least 2 years or older. Pennhip is a 3 posistion x-ray evaluation, what more thorough way could you go?? OFA is only a 1 position x-ray evaluation.
Pedigrees are posted on the individual page of each newfy.

*****Please take note, in your search for a newfy you will come across lots of breeders, some that are full of bad mouthing and gossip, you would be doing yourself the best by avoid these breeders  since odds are if you buy a pup from them and things go wrong you can rest assure you will be the next on their list of gossip. There is a BIG difference in helpful advice based on personal experience and flat out gossip. You will be much happier purchasing your newfy from a pleasant breeder willing to take the time to talk with you , not take your time talking at you and about others. They only come back to "bite" you....in the end. Remember "your newfy breeder should be representing the Newfy breed with "patiences & kindness" (Newfy Traits) Any other attitude is representing the aggressive breeds
not the NEWFY. Take your time, check references, you will eventually find that breeder perfect for you:)

*****Newfys are not a dog that you want to own in an apartment or places without some property. If you rent you have to consider what you would do with your newfy if your circumstances change, think things through, all scenario's and then if you decide you can offer a stable home to a newfy for the duration of its life span then Go For It!! Otherwise you would not be doing right by a Newf who has unconditional love, to go forward in getting one just to have to abandon it later. These guys have hearts of gold......don't break it:) Being patient till your living arrangements improve will be much more enjoyable for everyone.*****

Below is a Whispurr/Ditto boy from Jan. 02, 2003 litter we are keeping, his name is Shere Khan. You can see more of him under "Meet our males" link above. He is the only landseer here.
